What does dating in quarantine look like? What is normal? How can people really form meaningful connections? How can video dating be fun, safe, and maybe even more desirable than meeting up in person? These are the questions that Bumble set off to explore through Virtual Connections, a branded partnership with the media platform Buzzfeed. So what does dating from home look like? A fancy dinner with your phone? Your nicest top paired with some comfy pajamas? Maybe your cat makes a special guest appearance?
Working closely with an amazing video team, we produced a series of live broadcast virtual dates in real time to show just how normal and fun virtual dating could be. In addition to a truly exciting project, working for the first time completely remotely with a fully remote team was exhilarating. The larger team was based in New York, Austin, Los Angeles, and a few places in between. We must say that it wasn’t always easy, but it was a truly amazing experience and an interesting look into the potential of large teams working completely collaboratively. A true look into the future of what out-of-office looks like.
